Both inputs work, Ive been using the mouse buttons plus the arrow keys on the kb and that has been great. If you have a mouse and kb connected when you boot the game up, it will ask if you want to use a Hybrid control. Im terrible at real-time strategy, but thankfully both games have a stop time/speed time up feature which works really well for a clutz like me. I have a mid-game save in Stellaris which I would have liked to finish before continuing with Mars, and also because I was a bit intimated by its premise. I decided to try Surviving Mars after trying Stellaris and finding out that it does not support kb+m.

I dont know how well it will play, and if the game is optimised enough for the OG xbox to be able to feel good with mouse look. Gears 5 supports kb+m, and I will try playing some online games with it. Crafting and managing your inventory is a lot easier with kb+m, and text chat is also a great feature if you want to play realms with someone. Minecraft has had kb+m support for a long time, and it just works great. It can be tough to get things done since people are blathering away on voice, but most people can read English and get the message. Its just great to have text chat, and not have to rely on speaking to people for whatever purpose.

Sea of Thieves looks a lot worse on the OG xbox one at what looks like a sub 1080p resolution, but it plays well with the mouse although it was a bit too sensitive by default so I turned it down a few notches to get a more Halo feel to it.
